Yukon University
Yukon University offers diverse programming in areas of professional, academic, continuing education or contract training services. The Whitehorse campus, situated above the historical Yukon River, provides university transfer credit courses in arts and sciences, career and trades programs, college preparation, and some degree granting programs. A research centre and the biannual peer-reviewed, The Northern Journal, promote academic development. Dawson City, located 500 kilometres north of Whitehorse, is home to the distinctive Visual Arts program. Distance learning is also available.
The Yukon is known for its massive outdoors and the arts and culture scene. Students enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, and canoeing as well as the many festivals. Services available to students are personal and career counselling, a Co-op program, learning assistance, singles and family residences, and interest activities with a cultural integration model.
The university community welcomes diverse learners who are open to learn and experience a unique part of Canada and its culture.
