Psychology Flexible Pre-Major

*Please Note:  The Flexible Pre-Major Program has been discontinued and will no longer be updated.  The agreements listed below are for historical reference only and should not be considered a guaranteed pathway.  To view current course articulations, please go the Course Search.

The Psychology Flexible Pre-Major consists of the following courses (usually totaling 18 lower-level credits):

  • Introduction to Psychology I
  • Introduction to Psychology II
  • Research Methods / Thinking Clearly about Psychology
  • Statistics / Data Analysis
  • And any 2 of the following courses:
    • Biopsychology
    • Cognition
    • Developmental Psychology
    • Abnormal Psychology
    • Social Psychology
    • History of Psychology / Conceptual Foundations

Students are advised that completion of the Psychology Flexible Pre-Major does not guarantee acceptance into Bachelor of Arts degree programs with a Psychology major. Acceptance depends on students obtaining a competitive GPA and/or meeting any other admission requirements specified by the receiving institution.

Note: At the time of writing, transfer credit agreements have not been established between all institutions and all courses in this table. Students considering completing the Psychology Flexible Pre-Major for transfer purposes are strongly advised to check the BC Transfer Guide, or consult with an academic advisor, to verify the transferability of specific courses between their institution and the institution they plan to transfer to.
