Program Application and Transfer Credit Procedures
The TRU Calendar lists entrance requirements and application dates for
each program. Students planning to apply to TRU should follow the
entrance requirements and application dates outlined in the calendar. There is an application fee.
Students applying to university degree programs will have all
post-secondary documents assessed for transferable courses as part of
the admission process.

Transfer Credit Regulations and Limits
In general, only courses with a grade of P or better are transferred to
TRU. Transfer credit is not used in calculating a student's TRU
cumulative grade point average. Transfer of courses toward one program
at TRU does not guarantee that they will be recognized in the same way
by another program.
CERTIFICATES AND DIPLOMAS
50% of the program must be completed at TRU. Consult the TRU
Calendar for details.
DEGREES
Bachelor of Arts (majors, minors, concentrations): 60 credits may be
transferred. A minimum of 30 upper level credits must be completed at
TRU.
RESTRICTIONS BY DISCIPLINE
Bachelor of Science (majors, minors, concentrations): 60 credits may be
transferred. At least 50% of the upper level credits in each major or
minor must be completed at TRU.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing: Up to 60 credits may be transferred. A
minimum grade of C is required to receive credit.
Bachelor of Social Work: 60 credits may be transferred.
DEGREE PROGRAMS
The admission grade point average is calculated on all courses that are
transferable to the program for which you are applying. Use
the BC Transfer Guide to determine if your courses are transferable to TRU. Then check the TRU calendar to ensure that the TRU equivalent course is applicable to the degree. If a course is
not in the transfer guide it may still be eligible for transfer.
Check with an Academic Advisor or a Program Advisor for more
information.
