BCCAT Mission Statement

The mandate of the British Columbia Council on Admissions and Transfer (BCCAT) is to facilitate admission, articulation and transfer arrangements among B.C. post-secondary institutions. Specifically, the Council encourages institutions to develop policies and practices that facilitate student mobility, the admission process for direct entry and transfer students, and transferability of post-secondary credit courses.

"BCCAT" is the official mark of the BC Council on Admissions and Transfer, as published by the Registrar of Trade-marks of the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. The material on this site is covered by the provisions of the Copyright Act, by Canadian laws, policies, regulations and international agreements. Such provisions serve to identify the information source and, in specific instances, to prohibit reproduction of materials without written permission. Information found on this website should not be reproduced without the express written permission of BCCAT.

BCCAT has made every effort to ensure that the information included in its websites (including but not limited to BCCAT.ca, BCTransferGuide.ca and EducationPlanner.ca) is kept as current and accurate as possible. BCCAT consults with post-secondary institutions in BC on a regular basis to keep its data current and accurate. BCCAT cannot be held liable for errors in, or omissions from, its online resources. Visitor Tracking

BCCAT tracks visitors to the websites in order to help make the sites more useful by learning about the number of visitors and by monitoring traffic patterns and the types of technology that visitors use. These may include: the internet domain and IP address, the type of browser and operating system, the date and time of a site visit, the pages visited and the address of a referring website if the link was made through that method.

Personal Information

Personal information is not automatically gathered from users. Users may voluntarily submit information for the purpose of creating and maintaining a myEdPlanner account. Account information is not disclosed to anyone except BCCAT personnel who require this information. Information provided to BCCAT is not shared with any third parties without the expressed consent of the individuals involved.

Any personal information provided by users is protected under BC's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Users will be informed when personal information is being collected at the point of collection, along with the rationale.

BCCAT usage reporting software can record the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted our web site. No attempt will be made to associate IP addresses with the specific individuals.

Sections of BCCAT's web sites rely on "session" cookies to hold current access details. These cookies are only held in memory while the session is active. As soon as users leave BCCAT web sites, these cookies expire.

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, BCCAT has put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information collected.
